What better way to celebrate green chile season than with one of New Mexico's most iconic bites? We're proud to be the presenting sponsor of Edible New Mexico's 2026 Green Chile Cheeseburger Smackdown, where some of the state's top chefs go head-to-head for green chile cheeseburger glory.
The annual competition has been bringing chefs and chile lovers together since 2013, celebrating the creativity, craftsmanship and regional pride behind a dish that's unmistakably New Mexico.
Seven finalists from communities across New Mexico will bring their own spin to our state’s classic. Guests taste their way through the afternoon at the beautiful Santa Fe Brewing HQ in Santa Fe while visiting with friends, family and your favorite co-op, of course. They’ll cast their ballots for the People's Choice Award while the secret judges carefully select the grand poobah of green chile cheeseburgers for the year.
