Active Members Elect the board
The board is comprised of up to nine directors. Term lengths vary between one and three years and determined by the seats available at each election. Three seats may be filled by staff members. Elected board members may appoint individuals to fill board vacancies. Our board provides the vision and guidance for the organization and selects the general manager to lead our co-op.

We govern through a process called  Policy Governance, a model that emphasizes the board’s role in clearly stating what the organization intends to achieve through our Ends—aka our guiding goals—make healthy food and goods accessible, promote environmental sustainability in our practices and products, champion local food systems, create a workplace based on dignity, opportunity, and fair compensation, and welcome and celebrate our whole community.
