Through programs and initiatives, we deepen our reach into the communities we serve to maximize impact. While we focus on sourcing amazing food and strengthening our foodshed — we partner with local community organizations with established infrastructure and unique expertise to drive meaningful change. Our community partners support a wide variety of initiatives, but they share a common mission and focus. Their work aligns with our guiding goals—our Ends—by providing access to healthy food, supporting environmental sustainability and local food systems, championing safe and inclusive workplaces, and welcoming the whole community
Round up for change
Each month, through our Round Up for Change program, we partner with a local nonprofit, giving shoppers the opportunity to make a difference by donating at checkout. Our featured Change Partners are introduced to our incredible network of patrons, collaborators, and partners through our newsletter, social media, and in-store promotions—helping to amplify their mission and impact
This program has been a lifeline for many nonprofits, sustained by the generosity of our community. In the past year alone, shoppers have rounded up their purchases, contributing more than $87,000—funds that are directly reinvested in our state to build a healthier, more vibrant community.
Protecting people’s rights and creating long-term change across New Mexico
The New Mexico Center on Law and Poverty (NMCLP) works to improve the living conditions, health, and economic well-being of families by partnering with communities to drive meaningful changes in laws, policies, and programs. NMCLP’s highly skilled attorneys and advocates collaborate directly with communities to identify the most pressing challenges facing New Mexicans and develop effective, responsive solutions.
NMCLP advocates on behalf of New Mexicans before state agencies and other decision-makers, communicating the barriers communities face, advancing necessary policy reforms, and providing ongoing monitoring and technical assistance after program changes are implemented. When needed, NMCLP also engages in legal advocacy, representing individuals and community groups in court to achieve systemic change. In addition, NMCLP provides accurate, accessible public education that highlights key issues and informs people of their rights and the community resources available to them.
